How is it almost half term already?It only feels like yesterday that we were welcoming our little ones — new and old — back to Rainbow Playschool! Time really does fly when you’re having fun, and we’ve certainly been busy this half term.Our focus this term has been “Magical Me”, where we explored what makes each of us special and unique. The children have enjoyed talking about their families, their likes and dislikes, and learning that it’s perfectly okay to be different — that’s what makes us magical!We’ve supported the children in settling into their new routines through plenty of short circle times, small group activities, and nurturing adult support to ensure everyone feels happy, safe, and secure in our setting.We introduced positive behaviour strategies and set out clear expectations to help children understand how we play and learn together kindly and respectfully.📚 Our stories this term:- The Colour Monster – to help us talk about our feelings and use colours to express our emotions (linked to the Zones of Regulation).- The Dot – to encourage children to explore art in many ways, make their mark, and celebrate creativity and individuality.🏡 The children have also been learning about where they live, what their homes look like, and different types of jobs that adults do.🍁 Autumn has been a big part of our play too! We’ve loved exploring nature — making autumn soup in the water tray, investigating pumpkins, acorns, colourful leaves, and even conkers and fir cones!As we reach the end of this half term, we’d like to wish all our term-time children a lovely, restful break.
